🏆 Tournament Roundup

🔥 Mexico Major Is About to Go Off in Padel’s Birthplace (🇲🇽)

The Mexico Major is now live and rolling at the stunning Arena GNP Seguros in Acapulco, with the early rounds already underway.

On the men’s side, Arturo Coello and Agustín Tapia walk in as the “try and stop us” favorites, with Alejandro Galán and Federico Chingotto lurking as the challengers. Meanwhile, Juan Lebrón teams up with Leo Augsberger, and Martín Di Nenno reunites with Stupa yet again.

The women’s draw is absolutely loaded, headlined by Gemma Triay & Delfi Brea. Expect big names, tight matches, and at least one upset. 😬 The whole thing is shaping up to be a week of pure madness from both the veterans and the new duos trying to shake up the board. Every match in this draw has consequences, and the top of the ranking could genuinely swing on a single bad service game.

🌍 International Padel Scene

🥇 Padel Just Went Olympic (Well… in Paraguay) (🇵🇾)

Big news out of Paraguay, where the Paraguayan Padel Federation has officially been welcomed into the Paraguayan Olympic Committee as an Associate Member. 🎉 It’s a major credibility boost for the sport locally, and the federation says this recognition strengthens its mandate to keep building a stronger, more structured national padel ecosystem.

Luigi Carraro, president of the FIP, jumped in with public congratulations, framing the move as another “big puzzle piece” in padel’s long game toward global sporting legitimacy.

And Paraguay’s been busy: Asunción, one of South America’s oldest capitals, already proved it can host on the world stage after staging the XIV FIP Juniors Padel World Championships back in 2023. 🏆 If this momentum keeps up, don’t be shocked if Paraguay becomes one of the Southern Cone’s unexpected power players in the sport.

🍺 Heineken Slides Even Deeper Into Padel’s DM (🇳🇱x🇪🇸)

Heineken’s non-alcoholic beer, Heineken® 0.0, is doubling down on its padel obsession, announcing a new multi-year partnership with Playtomic. The collab unlocks a slate of “social-first” perks for players across the globe, kicking off this December with “Open Matches by Heineken® 0.0” in Barcelona.

It’s also worth noting: this isn’t Heineken’s first padel rodeo. Back in October (which we documented in El Remate #2), they inked a deal to become the Global Beer Partner of Premier Padel starting in 2026. With the tour exploding to 24 tournaments across 16 countries (and expanding into Asia next year), the timing is immaculate. 🍻

🤖 World Legends Padel Tour Goes Full Tech Mode in Miami (🇺🇸)

The World Legends Padel Tour is turning up the digital heat for its Miami Finals at Ultra Padel Club this November 29–30. Partnering with Streann Media, the event will feature AI-powered streaming, multi-camera match coverage, and behind-the-scenes content.

The Finals line-up reads like a soccer Hall of Fame: Francesco Totti, Christian Vieri, Fernando Llorente, Marco Materazzi, and more. All content will stream through StreannStudio.ai, with highlights, interviews, and clips.

🦅 New US Facility Openings

🌵 A Cool Oasis in a Sweltering City (🇺🇸)

Padel Pals has officially landed in Mesa, Arizona. At 44,000-sq-ft boasting seven climate-controlled courts, a bar & lounge, co-working spaces, and booking through the Playtomic app, CEO Armando Acevedo, coach Carlos Pereyra, and pro boxer Oscar Valdez are aiming to blend professional training with community energy. From Padel Academy lessons to USPA tournaments and weekly “Padel Pals Nights”, it’s a space designed for anyone from first-timers to semi-pros.

Looking ahead, Padel Pals is eyeing a spot on the Olympic padel map for 2032, with plans for a second location in Tempe or Scottsdale by 2026. Daily access from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m. ensures plenty of time to “train, compete, and belong” (the club’s official motto).

🤠 Keep Austin Padelin’ (🇺🇸)

Austin Padel Center is coming to North Austin, bringing nine climate-controlled courts (six indoor, three outdoor) and a full suite of player perks (i.e., recovery lounges, locker rooms, a pro shop, a sports bar, and even private meeting rooms).

A pop-up facility opens in February for early birds, but the main courts and full experience are slated for mid-2026. This 22,000-square-foot hub is about making padel a lifestyle destination, per founder Benno van Veggel. The center will join other action-packed neighbors like Mesa Rim Climbing Gym.

🎯 Quick Hits

  • Yes, really, New Yorkers are crossing the Hudson voluntarily… and no, it’s not for cheaper groceries. They’re trekking to Cresskill for padel (+ spa amenities and a biohacking chamber, of course). Maybe the sport might actually be strong enough to break NYC’s lifelong Jersey-phobia. 🗽

  • In a new interview, big-time pro Mike Yanguas breaks down how he climbed to World No. 7, crediting a season of mindset tweaks, smarter shot selection, and a rock-solid partnership with Coki Nieto. He also gushes about Egypt’s unexpectedly electric atmosphere. 🎙
